Cyber Security Forum in Barbados by MIST and Fortinet

The Government Information Service published an article on September 16, 2020, about MIST and Fortinet Hosting Cybersecurity Forum.

The Ministry of Innovation Science and Smart Technology (MIST) in Barbados and their partners make use of Cybersecurity Forum to educated corporations and government entities of various sizes on how to safeguard their information.

Key points:

  • The Ministry of Innovation Science and Smart Technology (MIST), in collaboration with Fortinet, invites leaders, managers and IT professionals to the Barbados Cybersecurity Forum, being hosted on Tuesday, September 22. The forum addressed the lack of understanding and tools necessary to protect sensitive information.
  • Government and enterprise institutions are often key targets for cyberattacks. With the annual increase in intensity, volume and complexity of attacks, well-financed criminal operations sum US$7 billion in losses each year globally.
  • The forum accommodated both organizations, be it government or private enterprise as well as individuals not associated with either. The aim of the forum seemed to be centred around reaching the largest target audience possible.
