Bermuda’s Privacy Commissioner provides some cyber security advice

The Royal Gazette published an article on October 6, 2020, about a Privacy Commissioner posting daily cybersecurity tips.

As a hallmark for Cybersecurity Awareness Month Bermuda’s Privacy Commissioner comes to the table with a promise to help his citizens with daily advice regarding cybersecurity.

  • Bermuda’s Privacy Commissioner has pledged to publish daily cybersecurity tips and advice to celebrate Cybersecurity Awareness Month. The of the office of the Privacy Commissioner is to help Bermudians to better understand the risks and preventative measures to cybersecurity.
  • A dedicated webpage will receive daily updates for with an assortment of resources. Commissioner White stated the importance of the Personal Information Protection Act in instructing organizations on how to protect personal information with appropriate safeguards varying based on the risk factor.
  • He noted, “We are excited to join in with our cybersecurity colleagues to provide some plain-language tips that everyone can use to protect themselves, their businesses, and their family members.”
