Zoom web client outage prevents users from joining meetings

Zoom users are currently unable to join meetings and webinars through the Zoom web client and WebSDK. The outage is not affecting users joining through Zoom’s application. Zoom experienced a similar outage in April, when Zoom took down the web client to address a security bug. The bug was caused by a lack of rate-limiting on repeated password attempts which allowed potential attackers to crack the numeric passcode used to secure Zoom private meetings. In April, Zoom’s founder and CEO Eric S. Yuan said that the video conferencing platform surpassed 300 million daily Zoom meeting participants.
