Yahoo has confirmed it will finally enable encryption by default for its web-based email starting on 8 January 2014. Google, Microsoft and Facebook all made HTTPS-enabled webmail a default option for webmail in 2008. Yahoo says it takes the security of its users very seriously and will upgrade its RSA keys to 2048-bit by the end of 2013.
