WordPress Hacks Behind Spike in Neutrino EK Traffic

The attacks target sites running older versions of the content management system 4.2 and earlier. The payload is CryptoWall 3.0, the latest version of the virulent ransomware that has this summer almost exclusively been spreading from exploit kits, Angler in particular. The SANS Institute pointed the finger at a particular cybercrime group that had steered away from using the prolific Angler exploit kit and moved operations to the exploit kit.
