With Stolen Cards, Fraudsters Shop to Drop Krebs on Security

A new study suggests some 1.6 million credit and debit cards are used to commit at least $1.8 billion in reshipping fraud each year. Fraudsters use stolen cards to purchase, reshipment and resale of carded consumer goods from the U.S. to Russia and Eastern Europe. Many luxury consumer goods that are typically bought with stolen cards, iPads, gaming, iPhones, other Apple devices can be sold in Russia for a 30 to 5 percent markup on top of the original purchase price.”]
