Wireless Helps Dairy with Milk, Ice Cream Deliveries

Foster Farms Dairy has begun a rollout of more than 200 of Motorola’s MC 9500 handhelds. The new handhelds replace older DOS-based gear that was getting hard to service. Motorola says the MC9500 runs between $2,500 and $3,300, depending upon configuration. The technology helps sales by linking drivers wirelessly to past sales data kept in a central data base. Foster Farms expects a return on its investment within a “reasonable” number of years, dairy official says.”]
