Windows Users Targeted in Anti-Malware Scam

DefenceLab redirects infected PCs to Microsoft s Support portal, but modifies the HTML content as it returns to appear as if Microsoft is endorsing the worthless software. Traditional e-mail based scams are also in the mix this year, one in particular that uses the legitimate app TeamViewer to take over victims systems. Researchers identified 60 apps on Google Play infected with AdultSwine malware that in some cases displayed graphic adult-themed ads on apps intended for children. Read the full article.
