Massachusetts’s tough new data protection law was extended from January to May. Too many companies are in the dark about 201 CMR 17.00 (Standards for The Protection of Personal Information of Residents of the Commonwealth) Issued in September, the regulations require that businesses encrypt documents sent over the Internet or saved on laptops or flash drives, encrypt wirelessly transmitted data.
