Russian national Peter Levashov advertised his spam operations as a legitimate business concern. By 2017, he was quoting customers rates that began at $300 for 1 million spam emails, payable in bitcoin, court documents say. Levashesov’s Kelihos botnet had 50,000 malware-infected and thus compromised – aka zombie – endpoints, prosecutors say.
