What’s the True Cost of a Breach?

The Cost of a Data Breach is estimated at $135 per record in the U.S. The Ponemon Institute does a yearly survey and asks companies what their estimate of a breach cost happens to be. The last one that I saw, from 2013, was roughly $135 averaged across the globe. The cost goes down as we distribute that across global presence. We’ve seen people using very high value assets, disclosing those to the internet, and we’ve also seen companies losing multiple records.”]
