Web-based DropCam Surveillance Systems Vulnerable to Hackers

Researchers discovered the weakness in the Wi-Fi enabled video monitoring system, which they will demonstrate at the DEFCON 22 Hacker Conference in Las Vegas next month. The hardware of DropCam was reverse engineered by the researchers that allow them to insert a malware “implant” on the device and exploit the software vulnerabilities they found in the device’s software.
