Pennsylvania’s chief information security officer, Robert Maley, has been fired, apparently for talking publicly about a recent incident involving the Commonwealth’s online driving exam scheduling system. A source close to the matter said Maley was terminated for not getting the required approvals from Commonwealth’s authorities to talk publicly about the incident. A configuration anomaly is usually an issue with IT that the CISO has to take the hit for even though the problem is usually due to inappropriate internal access or poorly configured code or systems. A federally mandated reporting system of all incidents like a police log would be published on each organizations website.”]
