Vendor Retracts ‘Black Screen’ Claims, Apologizes to Microsoft

U.K. security firm Prevx says it has apologized to Microsoft over “black screen” controversy. The company’s blog post was taken out of context and may have caused an inconvenience for Microsoft, it says. Microsoft says it is investigating the reports, but by Tuesday it was denying that its updates caused black screens. A security analyst says the dust-up won’t do damage to Prevx’s reputation as a security provider, but a pattern of this will happen again and again, he says.”]
