US ISP Tells Users That Repeat Piracy Notices May Lead To “Thermostat Issues”

A US ISP sent a letter to its customers warning that persistent online piracy will force the company to downgrade their access plan to the lowest service level. Armstrong Zoom ISP says it will disconnect customers if it receives new copyright infringement notices for his account. The letter is just a formal notification of the ISP’s plan to deal with such cases. Customers may have problems with controlling various devices, including smart thermostats, which may cause some problems in the dead of winter. If the account owner wants to regain access to Armstrong services following this new complaint, he must then sign an affidavit.
