US brokerage firms warned of ongoing phishing with penalty threats

U.S. securities industry regulator FINRA issues notice of ongoing phishing campaign. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) warns member firms of ongoing attacks. Phishing campaign involves fraudulent emails purporting to be from FINRA and using the domain name @gateway-finra.org. Emailers send fraudulent emails requesting additional information from recipients to verify their firm name. FINRA has asked the Internet domain registrar to suspend services for the domain used in active phishing attacks before issuing the alert.
