Unhackable’ Biometric USB Offers Up Passwords in Plain Text

A USB stick that uses iris identification to unlock the drive claims to be unhackable only, it isn t. A simple Wireshark analysis revealed the device s password in plain text. The gadget, dubbed eyeDisk, uses biometric ID to protect the drive, which uses the biometric feature most of the time. The vendor, eyeDisk acknowledged the message and asked for more details but went dark after that, according to a researcher.
