UK Man Arrested for Selling Malware, DDoS Attacks on Google & Skype Servers

Alex Bessell, 21, was arraigned in a Birmingham court today, after police officers arrested him earlier in September. Bessell stands accused of infecting over 9,000 computers with malware, creating a botnet, and using it to launch DDoS attacks that targeted Google, Skype, and Pokemon servers. He also operated the AioBuy portal, a website that allowed people to sell various products online. Investigators believe Bessell made over $700,000 from operating the service. He is also accused of stealing passwords from over 750 users, which he intended to use for online fraud.
