Two Years to General Data Protection Regulation Compliance

The EU Data Protection Reform was put forward in January 2012 by the European Commission to make Europe fit for the digital age. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) governs the use and privacy of EU citizens data. The Data Protection Directive governs use of data by law enforcement. It will replace the current Directive and will be directly applicable in all Member States without the need for implementing national legislation. The new rules will come into force most likely in the first half of 2018. It is suggested to take on the GDPR readiness initiative before the deadline approaches.”]
