TSA will be using its new Screening Passengers by Observation Techniques (SPOT) program to detect terrorists at airports. The program is based on observing passenger behavior. Certain TSA employees will be trained to identify suspicious individuals who raise red flags by exhibiting unusual or anxious behavior. The results from SPOT have been encouraging so far, according to TSA officials. Racial or ethnic factors are not a criterion for singling out people, TSA officials told Time magazine. The SPOT program has resulted in the arrest of more than 50 people for having fake IDs or entering the country illegally.”]
