Fears that U.S. President Trump has destroyed the Privacy Shield Transatlantic data transfer agreement are unfounded, the European Commission says. Trump signed an executive order entitled “Enhancing Public Safety in the Interior” on Wednesday. The order is one of several he has issued since taking office on Jan. 20. It seeks to repatriate foreigners who have overstayed or violated the terms of their visas. The EU Commission says the order does not have an impact on Privacy Shield, which covers privacy of data gathered in the United States.”]
