An analysis of spam subject lines and malicious domains shows that attackers have been betting on Trump and Sanders to snag public interest. Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders represent the lion s share of subject line themes. The term Trump showed in in in more than half of the identified suspicious domains, such as those used for fraud, those potentially violating copyright, brand infringement, and more. The researchers also noted that malicious activity is also an important part of influence campaigns with well-crafted clickbait lures.
