Trade, Civil Liberties Groups Urge Cybersecurity Incentives

The U.S. government should look to incentives as a way to encourage businesses to adopt better cybersecurity practices, a new paper says. The paper isn’t aimed at any specific proposals for more government mandates, ISA’s president says. Incentives could include tax breaks, grants, lawsuit liability protections, or eased regulatory obligations as incentives. The report also recommends a new national cybersecurity development plan with a national research and development plan, with a plan with short-term and long-term objectives.”]
