TikTok Content Could Be Vulnerable to Tampering: Researchers

Chinese video-sharing service TikTok delivers video and other media without encryption. Researchers made it appear TikTok accounts posted misleading content by taking advantage of a lack of encryption on the service. TikTok says it prioritizes user data security and already uses HTTPS across several regions, as we work to phase it in across all of the markets where we operate, says TikTok. An absence of encryption means attackers could modify content while in transit, known as a man-in-the-middle attack.”]
