The biggest news was a wiper called GermanWiper targeting Germany and pretending to be a ransomware. Ransomware is more prevalent in the U.S. with more than half of the global detections originating from this country. A decryptor for the eNAPCrypt has been released that allows victims to recover encrypted files on their QNAP NAS devices.
