The good, the bad & the ugly of using open source code components

CA Veracode surveyed 400 application developers in the US, UK and Germany. 93 percent of respondents use commercial and/or open source components in their applications. The developers role in securing component use is shifting from optional to best practice, and even necessary. Seven in 10 developers said their organizations dont provide adequate training in security, and 76 percent said they weren’t required to complete any security courses while in school. In reality, developers should both use components and want to use this reality.”]
