Target Breach: Credentials Stolen

Target Corp. says hackers stole vendor’s electronic credentials from a vendor, retailer reports. Target breached as many as 40 million payment card accounts, along with personal information of about 70 million customers. U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder confirmed that the Department of Justice is investigating the Target breach. Target did not reply to a request for comment from The Wall Street Journal, a Target spokesperson confirmed to the paper’s publication of the report. The FBI has warned that the basic code used in the point-of-sale malware tied to the breach has been seen by the FBI in cases dating back to at least 2011, a blogger says.”]
