Symantec: Well-heeled hacking group Black Vine behind Anthem breach

Black Vine has been singled out as the attacker behind the Anthem hack, Symantec says. The hack is believed to be the largest waged against a U.S. health care company. Black Vine uses zero-day vulnerabilities in Microsoft Internet Explorer to launch watering-hole attacks. The group has deep pockets, giving the group the resources to customize malware, the research company says. Some Black Vine members have ties to Topsec, a Chinese IT security company, the report says. It says the group has access to Edlerwood framework, a platform for distributing new vulnerabilities.”]
