Symantec to Split Into Two Companies

Symantec Corp. announced Oct. 9 that it will spin off its information management business into a separate publicly traded company. Information management business generated $2.5 billion in revenue in fiscal 2014, compared with $4.2 billion for the security business. Security business, which will continue to be publicly traded, will offer consumer and enterprise endpoint security; endpoint management; encryption; mobile security; secure socket layer certificates; user authentication; mail, Web and data center security; data loss prevention; hosted security.”]
