Symantec to buy MessageLabs for $695 million. The move is designed to boost its software-as-a-service offerings. The deal is expected to close by the end of the 2008 calendar year. The addition of a SaaS offering will make it possible for the vendor to let enterprises choose the way they want to implement messaging security capabilities, an official says.
