Internal documents now show that phone numbers and addresses were included in the information stolen from a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) employee. A file containing 6,744 records pertaining to “mustard gas veterans” was also stolen. A “short file” with as many as 10 diagnostic codes indicating a veterans disability also was stolen. The VA still has not said why it didnt immediately disclose the theft, but it is aggressively moving to protect veterans. A spokesman for Veterans of Foreign Wars said the VA needs to come clean about who exactly is at risk.”]
