State of Illinois fills long-vacant CISO position

The State of Illinois has hired Kirk Lonbom as Chief Information Security Officer. The position had been open or occupied part-time for three years, but now he has been in the role for five years. He is a long-time public servant, having started his career as a police officer and specializing in criminal intelligence. The new role “leads a statewide transformative cyber security strategy in support of Governor Bruce Rauners Turnaround Agenda,” writes Hardik Bhatt, CIO for Illinois.”]
