State AGs Question Google About Street View Wi-Fi Snooping

38 law enforcement officials from 38 states join investigation into Google Street View snooping. Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal organized letter to Google. Letter asks company to name employee who created code allowing for interception of Wi-Fi network data. Google revealed in May that its Street View cars were collecting data from unencrypted networks. Google says it was a mistake to include code in software that collected payload data from Wi-fi networks in the software, but says it didn’t do anything illegal. Google is working with law enforcement authorities to answer their questions and concerns, a spokeswoman says.”]
