Senator questions airlines’ data privacy practices

Senator John “Jay” Rockefeller writes to 10 U.S. airlines about their data privacy practices. He’s concerned about what information the companies are collecting and sharing with third parties. Rockefeller is chairman of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee. The airlines receiving the letters Monday included United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, American Airlines and Southwest Air Lines. Airlines contacted about Rockefeller’s letter didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment from the airlines. A spokeswoman for Rockefeller says he’s focused on raising consumer awareness about personal information they provide online.”]
