Security Roundup: Security Concerns Slam Google Apps Rollout in LA; 760 Companies and Research Institutions Hacked?

Los Angeles City Council has voted to halt efforts to bring the LAPD into Google Apps services. The LAPD portion of the $7.25 million contract with the city had been contentious for quite a while. Google and the city couldn’t agree on the additional security plans for the LAPD. 760 companies, ISPs and research institutions have been hacked by cyberspies from China during the past decade, Bloomberg reports. The Wall Street Journal in its article “U.S. Homes In on China Spying” wrote, “Armed with this information, the U.S has to lay the groundwork to confront China more directly about cybers-pying””]
