Jay Clayton, head of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, says he wants to see more cyber risk disclosure. Clayton: “I am not comfortable that the American investing public understands the substantial risks that we face systemically from cyber issues” The SEC already requires companies to report cyber incidents that may have a financial impact on their finances. Clayton also wants to focus on cybersecurity as a top enforcement priority. The SEC is also looking at the sharp increase in “initial coin offerings,” aka “token sales,” or ICOs.”]
