Scammers move from Ebola phishing to fundraising

Scammers sent 700,000 spam emails asking people to donate money to fight Ebola through an Indiegogo fundraiser. This is the first time the scam has been used to solicit donations for an Indigogo campaign. The Better Business Bureau has warned against Ebola-related fundraisers. Indigigogo shut down the campaign early, but Indiguo has a multi-tier system in place to ensure that campaigns are legitimate, a spokesperson said. There are currently more than 180 Ebola related fundraising campaigns on Indiguogo, of various degrees of seriousness.”]
