At least three banks in the UK have temporarily suspended their mobile banking services for Samsung Galaxy S10 users. The decision follows reports of a security issue affecting the fingerprint scanner in the devices used for unlocking the phone and authenticating into banking apps. The issue is with the ultrasonic scanner reading the 3D pattern on the protective case instead of the user’s fingertip. Samsung informed that an update scheduled for this week will patch the problem. This correction should revert banks’ decision to block access to the mobile app.
