Russian Hacker Pleads Guilty to Operating Kelihos Botnet

Russian man who was accused of operating Kelihos botnet has finally pleaded guilty in a U.S. federal court. Peter Levashov, 38, of St. Petersburg, Russia, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to computer crime, wire fraud, conspiracy and identity theft charges. He was arrested in Spain in April 2017 where he was vacationing with his family after an international arrest warrant was issued against him by the United States. Levashesov is due to be sentenced on September 6, 2019 and will remain in custody until this date.
