Russian Arrested After Offering $1 Million to U.S. Company Employee for Planting Malware

27-year-old Russian national offered $1 million in bribe to employee of Nevada-based company. EGOR IGOREVICH Kriuchkov, 27, entered the United States as a tourist and was arrested in Los Angeles. He met with the unnamed employee of an undisclosed Nevada company numerous times, between August 1 to August 21, to discuss the conspiracy. The employee was asked to help install malware that would extract data from the company’s network, allowing attackers to make the information public unless it pays a ransom.
