Researcher reveals security flaw in Internet of Things OS VxWorks

A security researcher discovered a flaw in VxWorks, a real-time operating system for the Internet of Things. The OS is used in everything from network routers to critical infrastructure, as well in NASA’s Curiosity Rover on Mars and Boeing 787 Dreamliners. An attacker could remotely exploit the flaw without needing any interaction with a user. Vulnerability “allows remote code execution on most VxWork-based devices,” researcher Yannick Formaggio said in a talk at 44Con in London.”]
