Research Proves HTML5 Could Be Used to Hide Malware for Drive-By Download Attacks

HTML5 is one of the Internets core markup languages, but it may also be a great way for cybercriminals to effectively hide malware from software detection. Researchers from the University of Salerno and the Sapienza University of Rome outlined a series of techniques that could be used to fool antivirus tools. The ideas in the research were carefully tested over a two-year period to see if the scheme worked.
