Between Q1 and Q4 2020, attacks against Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) surged by 768 percent. Cybercriminals have taken notice of the increased adoption of RDP and are taking advantage of the vulnerabilities that accompany these exposed servers. RDP is not a secure setup and therefore requires additional security measures to keep workstations and servers protected. The typical targets of these attacks tend to be small businesses because they often lack the resources needed to protect against and respond to these threats. The growing threat against RDP makes it vital for organizations to install anti-DDoS protections.
