LocationSmart says a flaw in its location-as-a-service portal was not abused by hackers before being fixed. LocationSmart tracks and sells the location of mobile phone users. A security researcher at Carnegie Mellon University found that a demo on LocationSmart’s website could be easily abused to reveal location data for U.S. mobile phones.
