Public-Private Partnerships Form at Cybercrime Summit

A who’s who confab of government, corporate and civic leaders from the world has convened in Dallas this week at the East West Institute s Worldwide Cybersecurity Summit to discuss the need for wider public-private partnerships to make the Internet safer. The Clop group attacked Software AG, a German conglomerate with operations in more than 70 countries, threatening to dump stolen data if the whopping $23 million ransom isn t paid. Microsoft and other vendors are quickly moving to block the Sunburst backdoor used in the attack.
