Police investigate WikiLeaks retaliation attacks

Police say they are investigating a group called Anonymous. Mastercard, Visa and PayPal have all been victims of the attacks. The group is thought to have launched the attacks in retaliation for withdrawing support for WikiLeaks. However, WikiLeaks has distanced itself from the group, saying it is not affiliated with it. Three people, including two Dutch teenagers, have been arrested in the past week on suspicion of participating in the DDoS attacks on the site. The UK’s national security advisor has warned that similar attacks could happen if WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is extradited to Sweden.”]
