Pence used private mail for state work as governor, account was hacked

Indiana Vice President Mike Pence used personal AOL account to communicate with top advisers. Indiana law does not ban public officials from using personal email accounts. A hacker hacked Pence’s AOL account in June last year and sent a fake email to people on the former governors contact list claiming that Pence and his wife had been attacked on their way back to their hotel in the Philippines. Pence subsequently changed his AOL account after the hacker hacked his account, according to a news report. The use of private email servers by Hillary Clinton when she was secretary of state was a key issue during the campaign for the presidential election.”]
