Pegasus Spyware Infects U.S. State Department iPhones

An unknown assailant planted NSO Groups Pegasus spyware on the iPhones of at least nine U.S. State Department employees. The attacks took place over the last several months, hitting targets either based in Uganda or focused on matters concerning the East African country. The New York Times journalist Ben Hubbard was repeatedly targeted with spyware over a three-year period from June 2018 to June 2021, a cybersecurity watchdog and spyware-scrutinzer Citizen Lab has concluded. Apple declined to comment, but the company announced last week that it was suing the company to curb the use of spyware.”]
