Participating in Anonymous DDoS Attack for One Minute = $183,000 Fine

Eric Rosol is not a big-time hacker, but he participated in the 2011 Anonymous DDoS attack that Anonymous unleashed on Koch Industries. Rosol must pay a $183,000 fine and two years probation. The attack supposedly cost Koch Industries less than $5,000 in damages, though the company says they spent $184,000 to hire consults to protect its websites. By comparison, Koch Industries spent less than a million dollars in damages in the attack, according to the company.”]
