Suspected Capital One hacker Paige A. Thompson was indicted by a federal grand jury Wednesday on computer crime charges. Thompson, a 33-year-old software engineer in Seattle, was arrested last month on suspicion of accessing tens of millions of credit card applications after allegedly taking advantage of a misconfigured firewall. Thompson worked for Amazon Web Service’s Simple Cloud Storage Service – aka Amazon S3 – from 2015 to 2016. Capital One confirmed that data from 100 million U.S.-based individuals as well as 6 million individuals in Canada appeared to have been stolen.”]
